Following my graduation in 1994 from what is now Bath Spa University, I started my teaching career working in a Middle school in Dorset. I was SENCo for 6 years before moving onto a Head of Learning Support role in a large secondary school in Wiltshire. Since then I have held two Deputy Head posts in 3-19 Special School provisions (spanning 15 years) within Somerset and Wiltshire for children and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex autism. I have gained extensive experience and specialist knowledge – this continues to grow with every child I meet.

My greatest professional achievement is to see the pupils grow, develop and thrive into valued young people and to know that I have played an active role in supporting them and their families.

I am now fortunate to be part of Silverwood School and am looking forward to seeing the impact of what we do for our amazing children and young people.​
