Building Community, Inspiring Learning

Our vision of “Building Community, Inspiring Learning” means that we intentionally strive to influence education and society well beyond our school gates. We believe in a society where education enables all people to belong, make progress, and contribute their unique qualities and skills.

We recognise that there is a need for change within our systems. The quality of relationships, and learners’ sense of trust and belonging, are unconditionally important in all interactions, all of the time. This is especially vital when pupils are struggling with emotional regulation and behaviour skills.

The disadvantage attainment gap remains significant, and there are pupils whose neurodiversity, experiences of trauma, developmental stage and poverty require understanding and support, not the consequences of punitive behaviour systems.

We are working nationally and locally to create change, so that all schools become places of relational inclusion, belonging, positive values, trust, and safety for all learners.

We support schools, leaders, and policymakers to recognise behaviour as a complex set of skills that requires careful teaching, and that challenging behaviour is the communication of unmet needs. These needs must be met within a culture of compassion and support. We welcome you to get in touch to find out more about this work and to become part of this cultural and systems-level change.
