Building Community, Inspiring Learning

Parent Engagement

At Silverwood all parents/carers are equally valued as part of our school community. We recognise parent, carers and families are the most important influence in a child’s life.

Parental engagement has a significant impact on a child’s learning and has a positive effect on educational outcomes and wellbeing.

We therefore promote positive partnerships with all our families and promote regular communication between home and school.

Our approach provides a framework in which all parent/carers can engage meaningfully in the education of their child and school life, express their views and have these taken into consideration on matters effecting the education of their child.

  • To enhance the learning experiences of all pupils.

  • To encourage parents and carers to be involved in their children’s learning.

  • Provide a partnership between home and school, seeking to ensure that families feel welcome and valued.

  • Recognise that parent and carer involvement is multi-dimensional and that families have a role to play in fulfilling our core vision, building community and inspiring learning.

  • We place our shared school values at the heart of everything we do.
