TAG:HP Silverwood School is a member of Challenge Partners who are an education charity, led by practitioners, through which schools collaborate to improve each other and the education system as a whole, so all children benefit. “Our philosophy of collaboration, accountability, openness and trust guides everything we do.” Dame Sue John, Executive Director, Challenge Partners. In February 2023 we had our annual Quality Assurance Review. This is a three-day rigorous peer evaluation of teaching and learning, curriculum and outcomes, and leadership at all levels. Led by an expert lead reviewer, reviews are conducted by a team of head teachers and senior leaders from other special schools within the Challenge Partners network. We thought you would be interested in seeing our report summary from Challenge Partners which evidences and validates the progress we continue to make. Please note this report is not the same as an Ofsted inspection but it does provide an in-depth independent external view point which helps us to remain outward looking and focussed on areas for improvement. They were chosen as one of the BBC Young Reporter Competition 2022’s regional winners! Recently the clip appeared on Newsround. Well done to all those in Apple Class! On Friday the 30th of September 2022 pupils from across Silverwood School took part in the Silverwood Journey, a sponsored journey to try and accumulatively complete the distance between the 3 main campuses (60km!!!).
The pupils were involved in several different ways. Rowde campus took part in a mini tough mudder/colour run to cover the distance, some pupils from Chippenham and Trowbridge also joined in at the Rowde Campus. Pupils from Trowbridge and Chippenham campuses covered the distance by doing obstacle courses in the playgrounds and the halls. It was also great to see some parents join in with some of the early years’ classes. Some classes even covered part of the distance by walking to local parks from their campus. The pupils truly showed our Schools Values through Perseverance, Cooperation, Kindness and Courage. It was an amazing day and the pupils enjoyed taking part in something that took place across the whole of Silverwood School. Thank you to all those who helped sponsor the pupils. Currently, we have managed to raise over £600 towards the RNIB and Silverwood Charity Trust. On Tuesday 10th May 2022, two members of the student council were asked to be part of the, Meet and Great Team, by Gerri Kemp, a SEND consultant at County Hall. Sam was asked to stand on the main entrance to support visitors to the ECHP workshop to located the room where the meeting was taking place. Ana-Maria, helped Emma to register the adults and support Emma to create name labels to wear. Both students were great ambassadors for Silverwood School, Trowbridge Campus.
We are pleased to announce that we will shortly be accepting payments online for items such as dinner money, school trips and uniform.
